Lesson Times and Scheduling

Lesson Times

Scheduling:

First introductory lessons are scheduled individually.

Once you have decided to commit to lessons you will chose a weekly or biweekly time slot. You certainly may change to a different available time slot as long as you receive confirmation from me and intend to stick with the new time. I highly encourage private students to sign up for a weekly or bi-weekly lesson time. I have a liberal make-up policy in order to make scheduling easier.

Starting and Finishing Your Lesson

Lessons begin at the time stated and last until 5 minutes before the end of the reserved time. Students are welcome to arrive early to warm up and prepare. Packing up at the end of the lesson is an important organizational skill for a music student. Conversations can continue and questions can be answered but only if the student is packing up and preparing to leave the studio for the next student. As my students can attest I truly enjoy teaching and I often run lessons over time if there is no other student waiting. This is at my expense and I am happy to do it but if you have a tight schedule you are certainly welcome to insist that we end on schedule.

Parking is available on the street or in our driveway. Cars should never block the sidewalk since it blocks my neighbors. Bicycles are safest out back.

Parents or others are welcome to sit in the lesson room. You may also wait in our living room, on our front or back porches or at any of the cafes and shops in our neighborhood.
